Sheffield Wednesday have injury concerns over a key quartet ahead of their Yorkshire derby duel with Hull City.

Atdhe Nuhiu (knee/ankle), Lucas Joao (leg), Barry Bannan (groin) and Daniel Pudil are all major doubts.

It would be a big blow if Nuhiu was ruled out. The striker has been in fine form, having notched six goals in his last five starts. In recent weeks, Nuhiu has linked up well with Joao up front.

Pudil, meanwhile, has an unspecified knock and sources close to The Star say he was close to not featuring in the heavy midweek defeat at Queens Park Rangers.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference this lunchtime, Luhukay said: “Our two strikers are not 100 per cent. Atdhe has a problem on his knee and ankle. Lucas has problems on his leg and Daniel Pudil also has a problem so these three players are a question.”

As for Bannan, he sat-out the 4-2 thumping at Loftus Road.

“Barry will try to train today and tomorrow,” said Luhukay, who is already without 10 first-team players through injury. “We will make a decision after training tomorrow on Barry.”

Defender Frederico Venancio is expected to be included in the matchday squad, having been rested on Tuesday.

Luhukay said: “I gave Frederico a rest for a game. Fred has played every game with us in the time I’ve been here. It has been the same with Adam Reach. These two players have played the most games.”
