Sheffield Wednesday head coach Carlos Carvalhal says his team will be refreshed and ready to stop two defeats turning into a losing streak when Norwich City head to Hillsborough tomorrow.

The Owls have just come off a run of five games in 15 days, which reaped three wins and two losses, and they looked lethargic when Leeds United came out on top in the Yorkshire derby last Saturday.

However, Carvalhal believes that the lack of a midweek fixtures this time around has been of huge benefit and he is backing his side to produced a more energised display against fellow play-off chaser Norwich City.

"This game is different compared to previous games - we played five games in 15 games and the last game we didn't play in the same circumstances (Leeds didn't play in midweek)," said Carvalhal. "Against Leeds we played face-by-face and we were the better team, in my opinion, though we lost.

"This game we have a week to prepare, to prepare the strategy, the players to recover energy but we are ready for a difficult game, understanding that the opponents are strong but they will play against a strong team.

"We expect a good support from our fans in this last part of the season because we are in the time of the decisions and we need help of everybody."

He added: "When we have one week to prepare we can look to improve our game, we have time to train. Compared to the last game there are things we can improve, all the time we are improving but I think we played well enough (against Leeds) in the minimum to achieve points. We didn't finish the game with the feeling that we played a bad game, we finished understanding that we will be ready for the next game.

"We can upgrade the defensive dynamic, the offensive dynamic, corners and free kicks, we can improve. When we have one week to prepare we usually give a good answer so let's see on Saturday."
