Sheffield Wednesday: Norwich City visit the Owls still harbouring hopes of a late play-off push

Norwich City boss Alex Neil is refusing to give up hope of securing a play-off spot as he prepares his side for the trip to Sheffield Wednesday.

The Canaries travel to Hillsborough on Saturday bidding to bolster their hopes of making an instant return to the Premier League.

With 12 matches left, Norwich sit in eighth position, trailing the sixth-placed Owls by six points.

Neil said: “Everyone is looking at it as if if we must win the next one or two to hit the play-off positions. The fact is there are 12 games left. Whether we get in just now or in a few weeks time my only concern is that at the end of these next 12 games we are in the play-off positions. If it takes us to the last game then that is when it will be important.”

The Scot, who has been linked with the vacant managerial job at Rangers, added: “Of course it (the top-six) is attainable We have five of the top six still left to play so it is still in our own hands.”
