Sheffield Wednesday: Jos Luhukay opens up on his plan to revamp Owls squad
Jos Luhukay has promised to lower the average age of his Wednesday squad over the coming months.
Manager Luhukay, whose team host Norwich City on the final day of the Championship season this Sunday, has already begun his summer clear-out.
Experienced defender Glenn Loovens, 34, and wide man Ross Wallace, 32 will leave the club at the end of the campaign.
Despite blooding a number of academy players since taking over the reins in January, the Dutchman has vowed to inject more youth and energy into his side when the transfer market reopens.
“I think we have enough experienced players in the team,” said Luhukay, who has held talks with chairman Dejphon Chansiri regarding his playing budget. “We will look to young players who can develop also here with us and with this club.
“We will try to bring for the new season and the future young players who make progression in their own career and can take steps for the future with us. We know what direction we will go.”
