Sheffield Wednesday: Jos Luhukay hoping Fernando Forestieri '˜finds his best form' after serving ban

Sheffield Wednesday manager Jos Luhukay is hopeful Owls forward Fernando Forestieri can find a rich vein of form as he returns from a three-match suspension for tonight's match against Leeds United.

The Italian, who was forced to miss matches against Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest and Stoke City, was banned by the FA for his involvement in a brawl during a pre-season friendly against Mansfield Town.

He is now available for selection and could make his return tonight at Hillsborough in the Yorkshire derby against top of the table Leeds.

Speaking on Forestieri's progress during his time on the sidelines, Wednesday boss Luhukay said: 'He is now available and has trained very well in the last weeks.

"He is in good shape so we hope he can help us in the games we have before the next international break,' adding, 'We speak with each other every day. He is in a positive feeling.

"Of course, when a player is playing, he feels very good. We hope that Fernando finds his best form. Let's see what he can do for himself but also that we, as a team, profit from it.'

Before serving the ban, Forestieri had been limited to substitute appearances against Millwall, Ipswich and Reading as Wednesday put together a four match unbeaten run in the Championship.

On whether Forestieri has a point to prove once he makes his return to first team action, Luhukay said: 'I'm sure Fernando himself will be wanting to come to his best performances.

"He has not played for a couple of games and weeks. We must see how best he can help the team.'
