The left-back sat-out Saturday's 1-0 triumph away to Huddersfield Town after picking up a minor injury while on international duty with the Czech Republic last week.

But Carvalhal, speaking at his press briefing today, said: "Daniel is okay and available if we need him."

Wednesday, lying in fifth position in the Championship, will give Sam Hutchinson as long as possible to shake off an illness.

"He's better but let's see. We have one more day."

The Owls will be without the services again of midfield dynamo Barry Bannan, who will serve the final game of his three-match suspension for his sending off at Nottingham Forest.

Carvalhal has no other new injuries to contend with as his side chase a fourth successive Championship win.

The head coach was delighted to pick up maximum points on the road versus Huddersfield last weekend.

He said: "Everyone is in good shape and happy. It was good for the team. We knew it would be a difficult game but we took our chance. It was a fantastic result.

"We are more happy after winning the game. But that belongs to the past."
