A desire from the Thai businessman to see Hillsborough as full as possible was behind his decision to hold season ticket prices at the club for another month.

Following the end of Wednesday’s play-off campaign, season tickets have gone back on sale at the same price as the early bird offers which we introduced in January.

The current offer period runs until July 1 with adult prices ranging from £455 to £640.

Chansiri his decision to offer cheaper prices once again was inspired by the bumper crowd for the play-off semi-final first leg with Brighton and Hove Albion, plus the incredible atmosphere Wednesdayites created in last weekend’s final at Wembley Stadium.

“I am pleased to make this one-off gesture at this time following an exciting regular season at Hillsborough before the amazing atmosphere against Brighton in the play-offs,” Chansiri said.

“But then came the most incredible scenes at Wembley on Saturday, when despite losing the game to Hull, we all witnessed a level of support rarely, if ever seen before.

“Those scenes of passion mirrored my complete commitment to our club, which I desperately want to see competing back in the Premier League.

“It was not to be this year but we must regroup together and bring that Wembley spirit to Hillsborough.

“I want – we all want – as many supporters as possible on the next stage of our journey and I hope that by keeping the season ticket prices the same as the early bird price, this can help make the difference.”

Chansiri said earlier this week that Wednesday supporters deserve Premier League football after their backing of the side this season.

The latest season ticket sales period also includes the new under-25s rate introduced in January, starting at £355.
