Sheffield Wednesday: Could there be a late twist in the tale in the Owls' pursuit of Danny Batth?

It looks like Sheffield Wednesday will have a fight on their hands for Danny Batth if they are to bring him to Hillsborough before the end of the loan window tomorrow.

According to Birmingham Live, Leeds United have joined the race for the Wolves defender at the last minute and could jeopardise any move to the Owls.

Batth appears to be Wednesday's main target in the remainder of the window if the rumours are to be believed and there were positive signs of progress earlier in the week when the 27-year-old was left out of Nuno Espirito Santo's Carabao Cup squad.

New Wolves signing Leander Dendoncker has pushed Batth down the pecking order to fifth-choice centre-back, meaning it is likely he will head out on loan before Friday's deadline.

If Jos Luhukay can persuade Batth to join Wednesday it won't be the first time the Wolves man has represented the club '“ he played for the Owls during loan spells in 2010/11 and 2011/12.

Will top of the table Leeds tempt him away from Hillsborough?
