Sheffield Wednesday captain Tom Lees reveals the Premier League manager he'd most like to work withÂ

In an interview with the Daily Mail, Lees said he admires the Spurs boss for his ability to help players improve and become comfortable on the ball as well as strong in defence.

When asked which famous manager he'd like to work for, he said: 'I'd say I'd like to play under Mauricio Pochettino at Tottenham because of the way he improves players and gets the most out of them.

'He might not have the biggest names or the most amount of money to spend but he seems to have a really good work ethic and he's really thorough and detailed.'

The Owls captain, who joined the club from Leeds in 2014, also revealed he's a Birmingham City fan thanks to his dad and at home it's 'strictly Birmingham City'.

Wednesday have a special place in the 27-year-old's heart though, with the team's run to the play-off finals and his debut against Brighton among his favourite football memories.

'It was an important step for me to leave Leeds and come here. I felt it was a defining moment in my career that I had to get off to a good start. 

'It was my first game for a club which I now love playing for. We won as well, so that was a really good day for me. It was a relief and a good way to start what have been the best years of my career.'

And his favourite player?

'Fabio Cannavaro. For me, everything he stands for is great. The way he played, the way he conducts himself, the way he is as a person.

I'm not the tallest centre-back. I'm only around 6ft 1, whereas nowadays a lot of centre-backs are 6ft 3, 6ft 4. Cannavaro's smaller than me but the way that he could jump and leap and the way that he competed for his size was just amazing.'
