Sheffield Wednesday boss angry over his team's lack of chances at Nottingham Forest

Strikes either side of half-time from Lewis Grabban and Joao Carvalho condemned the Owls to a first Championship loss in five matches.

Substitute Steven Fletcher pulled one back late on but Forest held on to move above Wednesday in the table.

Luhukay, whose side have slipped to 13th in the rankings, said: "We were very poor on the ball. We had no passing. No combinations. No real chances. We were not there in the last 30 metres. How can you score a goal when you have no chances?"

Forest broke the deadlock in the 41st minute, Grabban glancing in Ben Osborn's fine free-kick after a clumsy foul by Josh Onomah on Osborn near Wednesday's penalty area.

Carvalho's second just after the hour mark was no more than Forest deserved, with the hosts dominating for long spells in the second half.

Luhukay said: "We are very disappointed. I think over 90 minutes Nottingham Forest deserved to win.

"Both sides had chances in the first half. 

"The first goal was a stupid, unnecessary foul and we were 1-0 down at half-time.

"In the second half, we did not find a way to come into offensive situations or good moments. We had too many problems to control the ball.

"Steven Fletcher scored a goal but we had no real chances to win the game.

"We played as a team not good football today. When you don't play good football, you need a lot of luck and we didn't have that."

Centre-half Jordan Thorniley was forced off with a calf problem and will be assessed by the Owls' medical team today.
