Sheffield Wednesday: Atdhe Nuhiu shines in Kosovo's historic first competitive win
Wednesday striker Atdhe Nuhiu played a major role in Kosovo's first-ever victory in a competitive international since being admitted to UEFA in May 2016.
The 29-year-old, who signed a new two-year Owls contract last May, netted in Kosovo's 2-0 win over the Faroe Islands in the UEFA Nations League on Monday night.
Dutch-based Arber Zeneli opened the scoring in the 50th minute at the newly-renovated Fadil Vokrri Stadium before Nuhiu, an unused substitute in his country's goalless draw against Azerbaijan, claimed the vital second goal with a deflected effort to spark jubilant scenes.
It was Nuhiu's second goal of the campaign and his first since Wednesday's opening-day defeat to Wigan Athletic on August 4.
