Sheffield Wedneday: Jos Luhukay's update today on the chances of Owls beating the 5pm loan deadline

The Owls have until 5pm today to make loan signings and are working on a couple of potential deals.

But the manager revealed, shortly before boarding the coach for tomorrow's Championship clash at Reading, that he isn't anticipating any of his men leaving on loan.

Speaking around 2pm on the prospect of arrivals, Luhukay said: "There are three hours left. It can happen. I can't give a 100 per cent statement on that. We must wait until five o'clock. Let us see what happens."

On the chances of exits for out-of-favour members of his squad like goalkeeper Kieren Westwood, he said: "I think there is not a possibility that someone will go.

"It has to be within the next three hours and we have to drive to London to the hotel (for the Reading match). I am not expecting anything in the next three hours."

Wednesday have been heavily linked with a move for Chelsea centre-half Michael Hector who has had previous long-term loans spells at Reading and Hull City.
