Volunteers and community activists were honoured for their hard work at a Citizens’ Awards ceremony in Sheffield.

The honours were presented during the council’s annual assembly at Wharncliffe Side Community Centre and organised by Bradfield Parish Council.

Winners received their awards from Deputy Lord Mayor of Sheffield Coun Vickie Priestley.

Janet Walster won the adult good citizen award, junior good citizen was Sam Barker, and the good neighbour award was shared between Paul Mitchell from Dungworth and husband and wife Doreen and David Merryman, from Stannington.

Action for Stannington won the Community Group Award.
