Owners of the Reserved Café, in Stannington Park, which currently opens from 7am to 6pm Monday to Sunday, want to extend opening times to to 11pm on two days each month to allow for private functions.

A total of 25 objections have been made to the proposal from residents and groups, raising concerns over late-night noise.

"Taking account of the separation distance of the building from existing residential properties, the proposal is not considered to give rise to any harmful amenity issues.

"Furthermore the applicants are proposing to operate extended opening hours for a trial period of up to 12 months and conditions are recommended which will limit the potential for noise breakout from the use of amplified sound and to control the operation of the café."

It is expected the application will recieve conditional consent when Sheffield City Council's planning and highways committee meet on Monday, May 1.
