Sheffield university student plunges 40ft from flat window

A Sheffield University student has been left with ‘life altering injuries’ after falling through a window and plunging 40ft to the ground.

The 18-year-old, who has not yet been named, fell from a window in a flat at the Endcliffe Village student complex in the early hours of Saturday.

Emergency services were called to the Froggatt accommodation block at 4.50am on Saturday and the student was rushed to hospital with life threatening injuries.

She is said to have suffered ‘life altering injuries’.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “Police were called to the Endcliffe Student Village at 4.50am on Saturday to reports that a woman had fallen from a window.

“The 18-year-old was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries, where she remains.

“Inquiries are ongoing.”
