Sheffield United v Birmingham City team news: John Fleck expected to be fit, Paul Coutts not ready yet

Chris Wilder, the Sheffield United manager, expects key man John Fleck to be fit for tomorrow's game at home to Birmingham City.

The Scottish midfielder missed Saturday’s defeat at Bristol City after failing to shake off the groin problem which forced him off in United’s last game before the break, a 4-1 win over Aston Villa.

But Fleck will undergo a fitness session today at United’s training ground and is expected to return to the squad for the visit of Garry Monk’s Birmingham side; who beat Wilder’s men at the back end of last season and all-but ended their hopes of making the play-offs.

“It’s disappointing from our point of view that John wasn’t involved on Saturday,” Wilder said at his pre-match press briefing this morning.

”He was outstanding against Villa and at Bolton before that. And when he produces those types of performances, he’s a big player for us.”
