Sheffield United stopper Aaron Ramsdale gets England call-up

Sheffield United academy goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has been called into the England under 18 squad for their upcoming double-header with Austria and the Republic of Ireland.

Neil Dewsnip's side will take on Austria at Stadion Wiener Neustadt next Wednesday before taking on the Republic of Ireland in a behind closed doors friendly at St George's Park on March 27.

Ramsdale has turned in a string of impressive performances for United this season, including a heroic penalty shoot-out display in which he saved twice and scored another in the FA Youth Cup win over Bradford in October.

The youngster also stepped in to help out Worksop Town earlier this season after the NCE Premier side suffered a goalkeeping crisis.
