Sheffield United star set for derby return against Barnsley

Mark Duffy could make his return to action against Barnsley this weekend after resuming full training, Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has confirmed.

Duffy, who missed the Easter fixture schedule through injury, was scheduled to take part in this morning's session at the Steelphalt Academy.

Wilder, who also revealed Richard Stearman will undergo a scan on the hamstring he damaged against Cardiff City on Monday, suggested Duffy would be named in the squad which travels to Oakwell on Saturday if he suffers no adverse reaction.

"Duff is working with us today," he said. "Providing he comes through, he could be back for our next game."

Asked if any members of his team had reported fitness concerns following Monday's draw with City, a match they dominated almost from start to finish before conceding a 92nd minute equaliser, Wilder replied: "Only a few broken hearts. But we'll get right back on it."

Stearman limped-off during the second-half of the meeting with Neil Warnock's side.

With United only a point outside the play-off positions, Wilder said: "Stears is having a scan. We're hopeful it's not as serious as first feared. That will tell us what grade the strain is."
