Sheffield United raised over £5,000 for the Royal British Legion after signing and auctioning off ‘poppy shirts’ from their South Yorkshire derby with Barnsley on auction website eBay.

United, who worked with local company Pinders to design a special poppy memorial on the Kop, handed over the cash before Tuesday night’s game against Milton Keynes Dons at Bramall Lane.

United also raised over £500 for the ‘Movember’ Foundation by auctioning off the matchball from the Barnsley game.
