Sheffield United: Oliver Norwood is credited with bringing a new and dangerous dimension to Sheffield United's play

The midfielder, whose move is set to be made permanent in January, claimed a goal and an assist as Chris Wilder's side climbed to third in the Championship table by thrashing Aston Villa.

Speaking after Norwood and his United team mate Conor Washington reported for international duty with Northern Ireland, Wilder said: "We have to get goals from different areas. We can't just rely on the forwards.

"The delivery from Ollie, from the moment he came into the football club, has been excellent and it always look like we can score from his crosses in.

"He's a talented boy and he's done great for us. But, like everyone else here, that has got to carry on."

Norwood produced his most effective display in a United jersey yet during the 4-1 demolition of Villa; taking the early free-kick which enabled Jack O'Connell to break the deadlock before hitting the target himself towards the end of the first-half.

Wilder, whose team have scored nine goals in three league outings following the 27-year-old's arrival, added: "His calmness is excellent, he doesn't get ruffled even when there's a lot going on. That, the ability to pick the right pass, helps us.

'But he wouldn't be able to do that without the help of his team mates.'
