Sheffield United: New chief executive appointed

Sheffield United have appointed Stephen Bettis as their new chief executive.

Kevin McCabe, the League One club’s co-owner, made the announcement this evening after unveiling Chris Wilder as its latest manager last week.

“We are delighted to make Stephen’s role permanent, where he will lead our off-the-field activities and liaise closely with new team manager Chris Wilder,” he said.

Bettis has been working in an advisory capacity at Bramall Lane following the departure of managing director Mal Brannigan five months ago. A qualified accountant, he has previously worked for a property investment and development company.
