Sheffield United: 'My play-off chasing Blades will keep fighting right until the end' warns Bramall Lane boss Chris Wilder

United remain just a point off sixth-placed Middlesbrough and could have overtaken them with victory on Easter Monday at home to Cardiff, when Neil Warnock’s men nicked a point with a barely-deserved equaliser in injury time.

But with play-off rivals Boro, Millwall, Preston and Bristol still to play - three of which have to come to Bramall Lane - their destiny is still very much in their own hands, starting this weekend when they make the short trip to Oakwell to face South Yorkshire rivals Barnsley.

And Wilder said: “We’re in good nick individually and as a team, and we’ve just got to match up performances with results. We’ve had a run of games - Ipswich, Burton, Nottingham Forest, Brentford and Cardiff - which hasn’t been easy, but to only pick up one win in those five games is staggering, really, and difficult for me to take.

“But that’s how it is, and now we have to go and believe we can go and win some big games. There have been some results at the top of the table that few people will have predicted and we just have to look after our own business, and make sure we keep going right until the end.”
