Warnock told Sky's Goals on Sunday programme that he does not want the usual minute's silence or applause a former player or manager often receives.

Instead, the Cardiff City manager told presenters Chris Kamara and Ben Shephard that, instead, he would request a minute's booing at all the clubs that hated him.

Warnock has cut a controversial figure during his time in management and his outspoken nature has earnt him the title of pantomime villain at some clubs.

His affinity with boyhood club Sheffield United has caused upset with fans at local rivals Sheffield Wednesday who have given him the nickname "Colin W****r", an anagram of Neil Warnock.

Warnock famously said if he were ever in charge of the club, he would purposely mismanage the team and get them relegated before retiring to Cornwall.

As well as inciting Wednesday fans, Warnock has made an enemy of himself at Leicester who gained promotion to the Premiership at the expense of his Sheffield United side.
