Sheffield United: It's all about belief for never-say-die Blades

Chris Wilder says Sheffield United players must maintain confidence in their own abilities if they are to maintain this superb unbeaten run.

It was away to Millwall in late August that United last suffered defeat and since then there have been a few occasions in which Wilder’s side have had to really dig in to grab a point or three.

Tuesday night and the visit of Bury was one of those with Ethan Ebanks-Landell’s winner coming in the 93rd minute against a side down to nine men and defending stoically.

“The lads showed great self-belief to keep on going right until the end,” admitted Wilder.

“That’s what you’ve got to do, back yourself and keep believing it will happen.”

The next challenge comes on Saturday with an away trip to an improving Charlton side and Wilder could be boosted by the return of Kieron Freeman and Mark Duffy.

“There’s no point in taking risks at this stage. (Duffy and Freeman) should be available for selection at the weekend,” added Wilder

“That’s going to be a tough game again because they’re on a good run of form at the moment.”
