Moore, the former Cardiff City and Brentford stopper, is scheduled to make his United debut this afternoon when Chris Wilder’s side travel to Millwall still seeking their first win of the campaign.

And the 26-year-old told The Star: “I’m delighted, to be honest. When I heard the chance was here to sign permanently, I jumped at it.

“I realise how big this football club is and it’s where I want to be.

“Everything has gone through and, when it did, that was a weight off my shoulders.

“I just want to concentrate on football now.

“Opportunities have been limited at Cardiff but hopefully I’ll get them now and help this club get back to the heights once again.”

Moore’s opportunities at Cardiff, where he moved from Brentford in 2013, have been limited by the form of Scottish international David Marshall and the goalkeeper, contracted to United until 2019, added: “David is probably the best goalkeeper in the Championship.

“It was great working with someone of that ability day in and day out.

“But in terms of playing games, I wanted to be playing more.”
