Sheffield United goalkeeper George Long completes permanent move to Hull City

George Long has completed his permanent move to Sheffield United's Championship rivals Hull City.

The 24-year-old goalkeeper again links up with former Blades boss Nigel Adkins, who worked with Long during his season in charge at Bramall Lane.

“I’ve known about the interest for a few weeks, so I’m excited to be here as a Hull City player now,” said Long, who has signed a three-year deal at Hull after an undisclosed fee was agreed for his services.

“I’ve played under [Adkins] before and I really enjoyed that spell, so that was a big factor in me coming here. Hopefully I can continue to kick on under him here.”

United have inserted a sell-on clause into the deal for Long, who made 123 appearances as a Blade after making his debut in 2011. He spent last season on loan at AFC Wimbledon.
