The Liverpool teenager has a lot of high profile fans, including team mates, managers and former players that have all spoken highly of him.

Despite interest from Aston Villa, Jurgen Klopp reportedly chose Bramall Lane as the destination for the 18-year-old to spend next season on loan as he preferred Chris Wilder's style of football.

Woodburn featured in Liverpool's pre-season tour of America, where Klopp said: "Ben Woodburn is 100% back for example. How it is with young boys, from time to time the improvement doesn’t go day by day, but he has played such a good pre-season."

The Welshman has a record of making an instant impact too after scoring on his international debut, which Klopp revealed gave Woodburn a new nickname: "I heard someone say ‘The Prince of Wales’ - I love it! I said it twice this morning… I’m not sure that he loves it too much!"

It seems Real Madrid superstar Gareth Bale wanted to play with the wonderkid at international level too, as he persuaded Woodburn to pick Wales over England.

He said: “We knew he was a great player and we're delighted to have him. He's Welsh anyway so he's ours. We are all proud of him. Hopefully now he can kick on, keep working hard for the rest of his career.”

Former Wales boss Chris Coleman has also sung the teenager's praises, saying: “You’re never sure with young players. You can see them coming through with a lot of confidence but it can go left or right, you’re never sure.

“Ben is very composed, he doesn’t get fazed. He’s got a long, long way to go, Ben knows that and Liverpool will be the same. It’s for everyone else to get carried away but for me he’s a bright young player and he needs to keep working hard."

Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard worked with Woodburn at the Reds academy saying: “I am pleased with Ben because his attitude and mentality when he comes down to train at the Academy is 10 out of 10. That gives everyone a lift."

After becoming Liverpool's youngest ever scorer when he netted in the EFL Cup against Leeds in 2016, even ex-Manchester United man and now-Wales manager Ryan Giggs was a fan.

He said: "I’ve seen it from afar in the games he’s figured in and he’s a tremendous talent, and an exciting talent, someone I’d like to go and watch.
