Sheffield United: Dean Hammond won't be back at Bramall Lane

Sheffield United have severed ties with midfielder Dean Hammond after an agreement was reached between the two parties.

In a short statement on the club's website, United revealed that the 33 year-old would not be returning to Bramall Lane for the forthcoming season.

Hammond had been signed on loan by previous boss Nigel Adkins and in May it transpired that the former Leicester City and Southampton man had triggered a clause which entitled him to a 12 month permanent deal.

New manager Chris Wilder, however, made it clear when he took over that Hammond was not part of his future plans.

Now a settlement has been brokered with Wilder saying: "There's been a lot of talk about the situation and I'm sure all parties will be happy that it has been resolved."
