Brooks is expected to complete his £15m move later today, after both clubs agreed a fee last night.

Wilder, speaking at United's training ground this morning, said: "Nothing surprises me in football. The deal has still to be completed and we'll put out a statement when it is."

United are set to receive an initial £12m from Eddie Howe's side, with a further £3m due in performance related instalments.

Asked if he will receive the money to strengthen his squad, Wilder added: "That's a conversation we'll have when the deal is done."

Brooks, aged 20, signed an extended contract with United in October. He has since been capped three times by Wales.

"Nothing surprises me in football," Wilder admitted.
