Sheffield United: Chris Wilder's squad set for international recognition

Nine members of Sheffield United's first team squad, including Oliver Norwood, Enda Stevens and John Egan, will report for international duty this week.

The call-ups come after Bex Rayner, Sam Tierney and Ellie Fletcher were selected to join an England under-21 training camp after impressing for the Championship club's women's team.

On-loan midfielder Norwood, who will complete a permanent transfer to Bramall Lane next year, has been named in the Northern Ireland squad for their meetings with Austria and Bosnia Herzegovina. Conor Washington, his United team mate, was also scheduled to be called-up but has been excused from duty for personal reasons.

Egan and Stevens could find themselves playing against another United loanee, Ben Woodburn, when the Republic of Ireland face Wales in Dublin a week on Tuesday. Martin O'Neill's side host Denmark three days earlier while Woodburn and his Welsh colleagues are also scheduled to face Spain in an exhibition fixture.

Goalkeeper Dean Henderson is expected to earn his latest England under-21 cap when Andorra visit Chesterfield's Proact Stadium later this week before facing Scotland in Edinburgh on October 16.

David Parkhouse (Northern Ireland under-21's), Rhys Norrington-Davies (Wales under-21's), Jordan Doherty (Republic of Ireland under-19's) and Marcus Dewhurst (England under-18's) have also been recognised by their respective countries.
