And you have to go back almost 30 years to 1988/89 season for the last time the Blades accomplished this feat.

Current United boss Wilder was a fresh-faced 21-year-old back then plying his trade in the red and white shirt under the management of Dave Bassett in the old Third Division.

The goal-fest started in a home clash against Chester City on Saturday September 17 - a match that will live long in the memory of Blades fans who were there.

The club's new strike partnership of Brian Deane and Tony Agana ran riot that day and both bagged a hat trick in a 6-1 romp.

This was followed three days later with an emphatic 4-0 win over Northampton Town at Bramall Lane before Brentford were swept away in a 4-1 Blades win at Griffin Park the following Saturday.

Bassett's free-scoring Blades went on to clinch automatic promotion that season - bagging 93 goals and 84 points in the process.
