Sheffield United: Blades boss Chris Wilder draws up contingency plans for life without on-loan duo
Chris Wilder has devised a set of contingency plans to stop Sheffield United being left in the lurch should Jamal Blackman and Cameron Carter-Vickers leave Bramall Lane next month.
Despite revealing the duo, on loan from Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur respectively, are almost certain to complete their season long deals, Wilder admitted the lack of any cast iron guarantees has prompted him to assess alternative options in the transfer market.
“I think both our loans will stay in January until the end of the season,” the United manager said. “If they don’t, we look and make sure that we’re covered in both of those areas. But we’re confident they will be staying.
“There are breaks but that’s a natural contract situation.”
