Jonathan Kodjia, John McGinn, Albert Adomah and Jack Grealish were last night all receiving treatment for what manager Steve Bruce described as "knocks", with the latter thought to be a particular doubt after suffering a dead leg. Although Bruce's warning was designed to complicate United's own preparations - he later admitted at least two of the four are expected to feature - with Yannick Bolasie still unavailable for selection, Villa are unlikely to be at full strength against Chris Wilder's side. "Grealish, McGinn, Kodjia, Adomah are all struggling," Bruce said. "We've got a few knocks. "I expect two of them will be okay but we'll see. Adomah has got a back injury and is a concern but we'll see after training." Bolasie, signed on loan from Everton earlier this summer, had been set to make his Villa debut at Bramall Lane. But, after being assessed by Bruce and his fitness staff, has now been told to wait until after the international break. "I always had it on my mind that he would be ready after the international break," continued Bruce. "He will be exciting when he gets on the pitch, that's for sure." Villa arrive in South Yorkshire fourth in the table but facing criticism from their own supporters after drawing three and losing one of their last four outings. Bruce, who admitted Tuesday's Carabao Cup defeat by Burton Albion had left him feeling "physically sick", conceded: "I think that's the disappointing thing since I've been at the club, we lurch into crisis very quickly. "Listen, I understand we were woeful and embarrassing the other night and it hurts me to say that. I can understand the criticism, but to say there's a crisis? We should be looking forward to the future."
