Grajczonek, one of Sheffield’s key winter signings, will make his debut for the club in a repeat of last season’s play-off final.

The Rebels pulled through to win the title and have since gone up to the revamped top flight – and Grajczonek will double-up in the Championship with Tigers.

Somerset have signed Danish star Patrick Hougaard to spearhead their first season in the top division having started at National League level 17-years ago.

It’s been a fairytale rise up the ladder for the Burnham-on-Sea side who will relish the chance of an early-season workout on the big Owlerton bowl.

Sheffield co-promoter Damien Bates said: “This is a great way for us to start the season.

“My thanks go to Somerset’s management for their co-operation in making this happen and it’s nice that we’re allowed the opportunity to use Josh as we are the home side.

“We were proud of reaching the final last season, but I think most will agree Somerset were worthy winners and everyone here at Sheffield wishes them all the very best for their first season at Premiership level.

“It will be a good meeting I’m sure and I hope to see a big turnout on the Owlerton terraces before we open our home league campaign the following week.”

The meeting also sees a debut as team manager for club legend Simon Stead who announced his retirement in the winter.

Meanwhile the club are holding a pre-season talk-in at the stadium next Thursday, February 23.
