Tigers are unbeaten in their two meetings so far as they look to book a semi-final spot.

Stead made his full return to racing in Thursday’s home clash against Peterborough after almost 12 months out through injury.

The Sheffield skipper scored ten points and is looking to build on that performance at Foxhall tonight.

Said Stead: “I had a few butterflies before my first race on Thursday, but my opening heat win certainly settled me down a little. I was really disappointed that my night ended how it did with bike problems - especially as I was winning and the fact that it cost us a couple of points. But overall I think I’ve got to be happy to score double figures on my first full meeting back and now it’s time to build on that.

“It’s going to be a tough one at Ipswich; they’ve got a strong No.1 in Danny (King) and they’ve got some capable riders throughout the rest of their team.

“Like every other team though, they’re there to be beaten as Scunthorpe went there and proved the other week.

“It’s always a well prepared circuit, a great racing track and we’re really looking forward to going there.

“It would be nice to continue our unbeaten form in the League Cup but we’re all going to need to chip in with some big points.

“As a team we’ve had an encouraging start to the season; the boys had a great win at Scunthorpe and were unlucky to drop points against Peterborough. While there’s a few things we can work on, I’m also keen to focus on the positives.”

Sheffield welcome back Jason Garrity to their line-up after missing Thursday’s meeting due to Elite League commitments.
