The tenacious Tigers responded to three successive defeats to claim a convincing home win over highly-rated Glasgow on Thursday and a hard-fought away triumph at Berwick two days later.

As they prepare to host Hertfordshire side Rye House at Owlerton this Thursday evening (7.30), Bates has stated he believes they are finally fulfilling their potential.

“We were disappointed after our defeats against Plymouth and Peterborough, the lads knew they had to turn things around and they have done.

“We have taken seven points from our last two Premier League meetings which is great, so we just need to keep this going now” said Bates.

“We have started to show what we are capable and we’ll be heading into the meeting against Rye House on Thursday looking to maintain this form.”

Meanwhile, Josh Bates is sweating on news of the wildcard picks for next month’s British Final. The youngster won the British U21 Final last month and is one of a number of riders in the frame for the Belle Vue event (June 13.)
