A TESCO store in Sheffield celebrated its first birthday by raising money for charity.
The Tesco Metro store, on West Street in the city centre, sold raffle tickets to raise money for the Tesco charity of the year, Cancer Research UK.
Tickets were £1 and those who donated were treated to a free doughnut.
Store assistant of 16 years, Kris Kaluza, was in charge of selling the raffle tickets. She said: “The people of Sheffield are really good at giving to charity.
“I think it will be a big success.”
She added: “The students are back this week so that’s another reason why we’re doing it.”
The Tesco and Cancer Research UK 2012 partnership is aiming to raise £10million to support cancer patients.
