Sheffield teenager threatened to stab boys in street robbery

A teenager who forced two other teenagers to kneel on the ground and threatened to stab them unless they handed over their mobile phones has been jailed.

Martin Eastwood, aged 16, of Smelter Wood Rise, Stradbroke, Sheffield, was sentenced to two years and eight months in a young offenders institution.

Sheffield Crown Court heard that last March Eastwood targeted two boys, aged 15 and 17, as they were walking through Richmond Park, Richmond.

He stole two iPhones from the boys and was arrested by officers within 24 hours after he tried to sell one of the phones via Facebook.

PC Dave Devey said: “Thankfully, the two victims were not seriously injured in this incident but they suffered a highly traumatic ordeal on that evening.”
