Sheffield teenager appears in court charged with murder

A Sheffield teenager has appeared in court charged with the murder of a Chesterfield man.

Jaiden Browne-Evans, 18, of Beaver Hill Road, Woodhouse, appeared in the dock at Chesterfield Magistrates’ Court this morning charged with the murder of 35-year-old Darren Broadbent.

The court heard Mr Broadbent died of a stab wound.

Mr Broadbent’s body was discovered in a flat at Thorntree Court in Grangewood, Chesterfield on Monday.

Mr Browne-Evans was remanded in custody and will next appear at Nottingham Crown Court on Monday for a preliminary hearing.

A 15-year-old boy from Sheffield was also arrested by Derbyshire Police on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody being questioned by officers.

Susan Shaw, 44, of Birchwood Crescent, Chesterfield, also appeared in the court following the death of Mr Broadbent charged with conspiracy to commit robbery.

She was remanded in custody and will next appear at Derby Crown Court in September.

A 36-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and has been released on bail pending further inquiries.
