Sheffield supermarket seeks charity of the year nominations

The Wadsley Bridge branch of Sainsbury's in Sheffield is looking for a new charity to support.

Over the next couple of months, Sainsbury’s stores will make a shortlist of charities for customers to vote for.

The winning charity will then receive a year of support from the store, including fundraising and awareness raising.

Customers can vote between June 13 and 26.

The Sainsbury’s Local Charity of the Year scheme has raised over £9 million over the last seven years and has helped thousands of charities across the UK.

Andy Firth, Wadsley Bridge store manager, said: “There are so many fantastic charities in the local area who do brilliant work in our community. We’d love to hear from charities we haven’t supported before.”

To apply, register interest at the customer service desk or kiosk at Sainsbury’s, Claywheels Lane, by May 9.
