IT’S on your marks for the Sheffield Varsity 10k race… and the chance to raise money for St Luke’s Hospice.
Students, staff, alumni and friends of both Sheffield’s universities will be taking part in the race in the Don Valley on March 10 - and there will even be a special mascots’ race headed by St Luke’s own Digs the Dog.
“We are really excited,” said Varsity representative Alison Gardner. “The race is now part of the official varsity programme and we have students, staff and alumni from beginners to experienced runners taking part to bring the winner’s trophy home to their university.
“We also have an elite team of students from each university competing for a varsity point so it should be an exciting race! We hope the runners and supporters will raise lots of money for St Luke’s.”
