A Sheffield street is sealed off and under police guard this morning following a shooting.

Officers have cordoned off part of Butterthwaite Road, Shiregreen, following a gun attack last night.

Police vehicles are parked up next to the cordon and officers are stood guard preventing anyone from entering the crime scene.

Residents claim a man was shot in his chest in the street at around 7.30pm last night.

Anyone with information should call South Yorkshire Police on 101.
