Sheffield street named one of the steepest in the country

Blake Street, in Walkley, is the steepest in Sheffield, despite many thinking that the accolade belongs to Jenkin Road, in Wincobank.

The gradient of Jenkin Road, which featured in the 2014 Tour de France route - is 11.02° which is tiny when compared to that of Blake Street, which stands at 16.6°.

But it still falls behind the likes of Gold Hill, in Shaftesbury, Dorset, which is 16.09º, Steep Hill, in Lincoln at 16.12º and Vale Street, in Bristol, which has a near 22º gradient

The streets greatest claim to fame is its appearance in the 1997 film The Full Monty, where the striptease act members walk up the hill in search of a choreographer.

A house on Blake Street also appeared in 2010 film Four Lions.
