A CONVENIENCE store may be stripped of its alcohol licence after being caught selling booze to under-18s in three police ‘sting’ operations.
Police cadets were sent into the One Stop store, Tilford Road, Woodhouse, to buy alco-holic drinks, including cider.
The store’s licence will be reviewed at a meeting of a Sheffield Council’s licensing sub-committee tomorrow.
Insp Jason Booth, of South Yorkshire Police, said: “One Stop has failed three test purchasing operations in six months, although it has also passed three.
“I have concerns with regards to the management of the premises. The effects of alcohol on young people can lead to an increase in anti-social behaviour and crime, which negatively impacts upon the community.”
All options are open to the committee about the future of the shop’s licence.
