They’re normally ice cool customers – but Sheffield Steelers were certainly feeling the heat when they took a trip to an Indian takeaway to launch a dish named in their honour.
A night of thawing out was on the menu at Abdul’s, on Ecclesall Road, Sheffield, as the ice hockey stars got to grips with the spicy Steelers Super curry.
Sheffield Steelers captain Steven Goertzen enjoyed the night.
He said: “The food at Abdul’s was amazing and the staff and management made it an extremely satisfying and accommodating experience.
“The Steelers Super Spicy Curry was delicious, it definitely has a kick to it.
“We are happy that we have a new place we can visit to enjoy delicious Indian cuisine.”
Franchisee Laurence Nair said: “We would like to thank the Steelers for taking the time to come to Abdul’s and to sample our new dish.”
