General manager of the team, Claire Rowbotham, has persuaded the boys to shed their kit – including their hats – for a special reenactment of the Full Monty stripping scene at a ladies night on February 24.

All funds raised will go to Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity in this – the Full Monty 20th Anniversary year.

The night at the Novotel Sheffield Centre hotel, will consist of drinks reception, three-course meal with players seated at each table, disco till late, auction and raffle.

Claire said: “Entertainment will be by the guys stripping and magic mike and anyone who came last year can vouch for our unique entertaining style.

“A donation will be made toward our chosen charity for 2016/17, the Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity. Last year we did our First Ladies Night which was really successful.”

Steeldogs captain, Ben Morgan, said: “Ladies night is great for everyone. It’s a time for our loyal fans and friends to let their hair down and see the lighter side of the team that they don’t normally get to see in games. The lads really look forward to it and last year’s event was well received and certainly memorable. When there’s a chance to raise money for worthy local charities and have a bit of fun at the same time all of the boys are up for it!”
