Gorgeous Gary the Staffy is hoping to sniff out a new home in the new year.
The four-year-old pooch is currently being cared for at the RSPCA Sheffield branch, having been brought in by an inspector due to welfare issues.
RSPCA staff, that have fallen for Gary’s big brown puppy-dog eyes, are urging people not to overlook the lovable chap because of his breed.
Tony Benham, acting general manager at the RSPCA Sheffield branch, said: “The staff love Gary, who is a smallish Brindle Staffy, and it’s heartbreaking to see him being passed over for other dogs which we suspect this is simply because of his breed.
“We hope that people will see past what is essentially a dog prejudice and give each dog a chance on the basis of their personality, rather than any preconceived ideas about a breed.
“We have lots of loving, obedient and appealing Staffies at our centre who want nothing but to find a forever owner.”
