Sheffield speedway rider will become a top star, says boss

Greaves has shown glimpses of his true ability, particularly in the home win over Scunthorpe last week, and takes his place in the British Under-21 Final on home shale tomorrow.

The former club mascot is tipped for a bright future in the sport and Mole says the timing of this showpiece meeting is perfect.

“After a few tough meetings recently it could be just the pick-up Nathan needs to help with his confidence” said Mole.

“It will be a tough field, but the Under-21s is a chance for Nathan to make more steps in the right direction

“I was pleased to see him get among the points against the Scorpions because he’s deserved it for his efforts.

“Nathan has found the going tough at times but let’s not forget he is also returning from a broken leg last year and has not had that much track time to date.

“He’s making the starts, it’s just down to a question of experience.

“Once that starts developing then he’ll be fine.

“The standard of reserves is high this year but Nathan has always been on the pace, despite not scoring the points so far his efforts deserve.”

Greaves is one of two Tigers riders in the field with Josh Bates also included.

Sheffield rider Kyle Howarth is the reigning champion but is now too old for the competition.

Great Britain World Cup star Robert Lambert is the hot favourite to take the title.
