Sheffield shop helps fund clean water project in Nigeria

Good Taste in Broomhill handed over the cash to Sheffield-based BBC television news presenter Dan Walker, who is patron of the charity Taste, which is funding the project in Nigeria.

The shop, which opened in Whitham Road one year ago, is run by Jenny and Rob Coleman as a not-for-profit organisation selling fairly traded crafts, gifts, cards and food products.

It partners the charity Taste by publicising its work and donating all the profits from the business.

Taste has been working in Nigeria for over 15 years providing clean, drinking water to communities.

Prior to opening the shop, Jenny was an oncology research nurse at Weston Park Hospital.

Rob is a cancer specialist working at the hospital and the University of Sheffield.

Taste (Transfer of Appropriate Sustainable Technology and Expertise) is a Christian charity based in Sheffield.

It provides clean drinking water to poor rural communities by drilling boreholes.

It also provides community support for the development of sanitation systems.
