Sheffield head into the game as the third seed with the Lions sixth, the position they made it to the final from last year.

Sharks coach Atiba Lyons believes while his side have performed well for much of the season, it matters little when the play-offs begin.

He said: “What you do in the regular season doesn’t really mean much if you can’t do it in the play-offs.

“We know we can do well but need to take it step by step and make sure we give it our all from the first tip.”

As the higher seed, Sheffield had the choice of venue for the first leg and will now finish the tie in London on Sunday.

Former Sharks Nick Lewis, Olu Babalola and Zach Gachette will all face their former team in this series.

Lewis averaged 14.1 points in the league this season which leads his team while Gachette has the ability to score at will as shown by his 15 points in his team’s win against Leicester.

When asked about the former Sheffield players, Lions coach Nigel Lloyd said: “I think it helps Sheffield more than it helps us. Our guys have been around for a bit so their tendencies are probably the same as when they were with Sheffield. Our goal is to show a few more twists.”
